Everson Nyamhere

My name is Everson Nyamhere and I was born in Chipuko village in the Murehwa district in Zimbabwe, 1979. Today I am married to Monica whom I have four children with, one son and three daughters.

My favourite animals are frogs. During the rainy season they produce “musiclike” sounds that I find very fascinating. Therefore I make frogs that play different types of musical instruments. I have been working with metal art since the year 2000 and it truly is my passion. Today I have 12 guys assisting me and we mostly use metal from recycled oil drums.

 

Odius Makoma

My name is Odious Makoma and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1980. I am married with five children, three sons and two daughters.

My older brother used to work for a British company called Birdwoods. I used to visit him a lot during holidays and during that time he taught me how to sculpt metal. I later started my own art career in 1997. Today I have five assistants helping me and assisting me with my work. We specialise in making pangolins, king fishers, woodpeckers on sticks and herons.

 

Tendai Mapuranga

My name is Tendai Mapuranga and I was born in Mutare at the foothills of the Eastern Highlands in Zimbabwe, 1989. Today I am married with three children, one girl and two boys.

I started my art career at the age of 16 as an apprentice. I grew up in rural areas with lots of animals around me. I really love animals! When I got the opportunity to work as an apprentice, I was so happy to be able to create the animals I have so much love for. I became my own in 2013 and today I have 15 guys assisting me. We use scrap metal from fridges, freezers, washing machines, cars and oil drums.

 

Misheck Sechiwa

My name is Misheck Sechiwa and I was born in Guruve in the Mashonaland Central province of Zimbabwe, 1984. Today I am married with three children, two girls and one boy.

I have always been very creative. When I was a small boy I used to make my own toys out of clay. It was mostly tractors, cars and cows.

At the age of 18 I got the opportunity to start working as an apprentice, Iearning how to make animals from scrap metal. I became my own in 2015 and today I create a wide variety of animal sculptures such as ducks, hornbills, owls, pheasants, frogs, mice, spiders, praying mantises and peacocks.

 

Keven Mukondo

My name is Keven Mukondo and I was born in Nyanga at the foothills of the Eastern Highlands in Zimbabwe, June 19 1988. Today I am married with three children, one girl and two boys.

I started my career as an assistant working for my brother, Edward in 2007. I was his apprentice until 2012 when I became my own artist. Today I have one apprentice who assists me. I specialise in making suricats, pigs, penguins, tulips all made from oil drums, fridges, freezers, stoves and old car parts. For me this is a form of survival, It's the only way that I can provide for myself and my family. I love my work but once I turn 40 I am hoping to leave this taught work behind me and start with something else.

 

Tinashe Mubaiwa

My name is Tinashe Mubaiwa and I was born in the Buhera district in Manicaland Province, in eastern Zimbabwe, 1991. Today I am married with one child, a three year old boy. 

I started my art career in 2008. I learnt the work from my elders in the community which I lived in. I specify in making white daisies and dragonflies all made from oil drums. This is a way for us to survive and make a living to survive for my family.

 

Withmore Kaunye

My name is Withmore Kaunye and I was born in Manicaland, Rusape on the 15 of March 1988. Today I am married with three children, two boys and one girl.

I started my art career in 2012 once I finished my education. I started off as a assistant and apprentice to my brother Enocent. He taught me everything I know to this day and is my biggest inspiration. I specify in making colored frogs and butterflies made out of old oil drums.

 

Takawira Mubaiwa

My name is Takawira Mubaiwa and I was born in the Buhera district in Manicaland Province, in eastern Zimbabwe, 1988. Today I am married with two children, one girl and one boy. 

I started my art career in 2006 as an assistant working for my brother, Tinashe. We both share a love and fascination with dung beetles which is one of the animals which I love to make. I went on my own in 2009 and started specialising in making dung beetles, lily flowers, mosquitoes and many types of small birds. I currently have 2 assistants helping me make these sculptures out of scrap metal where we mostly work with old oil drums.

 

Jeffrey Matora

My name is Jeffrey Matora and I was born in the Buhera district in Manicaland Province, in eastern Zimbabwe, 1979. Today I am married with three children all of whom are boys. 

I started my art career in 2000 working with my brothers Enocent and Withmore. We all started off by making sculptures out of stone. I went on my own and became my own artisan in 2005. We all changed professions since metal sculptures are more popular than stone. I Specialize in making butterflies and insects. For the colorful insects I use oil drums that are painted and for the white insects I use fridges, washing machines, stoves and freezers.

 

Joram Mahwite

My name is Joram Mahwite and I was born in the Buhera district in Manicaland Province, in eastern Zimbabwe, 1975. Today I am married with four children, two girls and two boys.

I started with metal art by assisting a local artisan who also happened to be a close friend of mine, Enocent in 2006. I currently have one assistant working for me. I specialize in making owls, small birds, butterflies and dragonflies. We use old fridges, stoves, freezers and oil drums.

 

Edward Mukondo

My name is Edward Mukondo and I was born in Nyanga at the foothills of the Eastern Highlands in Zimbabwe, 1981. I am married with four children, three of whom are girls and one boy.

I started my art career in the year 2000 by making stone sculptures. From there I shifted professions and started making metal art in 2003 since metal is considered more popular than stone. Today I have three assistants working for me and assisting me with my art. I mostly specialize in making ants and dragonflies fromfridges, freezers, stoves, metal nets, and fuel tanks from buses. I started making these animals since I wanted to make something more original and different from other artisans.

 

Aaron Luwangala

My name is Aaron Luwangala and I was born in Nyazura in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe, 1980. I am married with four children, three boys and one girl. 

I started my art career in the year 2000 learning from my brother enocent. I started off as his apprentice, learning the art of metal sculpting. I became my own in 2003. Today I have three assistants working for me and assisting me with my art. I mostly specialize in making roosters using red and yellow oil drums and white washing machines. I also make spiders, fish and birds nests.

 

Frank Chitome

My name is Frank Chitome and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe, 1986. I am married with three children, two boys and one girl. 

I started my art career in 2007 as an apprentice to my uncle Peter Tendenguwo. He taught me all about the art up until I became confident in my work. I went on my own path in 2012. I mostly make small birds, flowers, bird baths and bird feeders using old car parts and oil drums.

 

Amon Muriwa

My name is Amon Muriwa and and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe, 1997. I am married with one child, a boy. 

I started my art career in 2017. I got inspired by my brother in law Peter Tendenguwo once I saw his beautiful work. I visited Peters workshop and learnt from there. A close friend of mine sadly passed away in 2019. He was one of the people who taught me how to sculpt and was someone who deeply inspired me. In 2014 I went on my own and started doing my own work with one assistant helping me. We mostly make doves, flowers, small bird feeders, mushrooms, ladybugs, bees out of all kinds of scrap metal.

 

Takudzwa Danga

My name is Takudzwa Danga and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1999. I am married with one daughter.

I started my art career in 2006 working as an apprentice for a local artisan. He taught me how to make colorful frogs out of scrap metal, mostly oil drums. I became my own in 2021 and today I create a wide variety of sculptures such as lizards, toucans, flowers, birds using mostly old oil drums.

 

Strive Magaisa

My name is Strive Magaisa and I was born in Epworth, Zimbabwe, 2000. Today I am married with a three year old boy.

I have always been very creative. When I was a small boy I used to love painting. In 2018 I got the opportunity to work as an assistant for a local painter painting metal sculptures that other artisans sculpted. I worked as an assistant for three years. In 2021 I started working on my own painted birds, elephants, mushrooms and ladybugs, all made from recycled cars, fridges and stoves.

 

Raymond Kaunye

My name is Raymond Kaunye and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1983. Today I am married with three children, one boy and two girls.

In 2006 I got the opportunity to work as an assistant for a local artisan I was close friends with. In 2009 I went my own way and started making my own animal designs and sculpting them. I truly admired other artists' works around town and took inspiration from them. Their beautiful art made me want to follow in their footsteps and make my own. Today I have three assistants working for me; Bleatmore, Joel and Luckmore. Today we create a wide variety of animal sculptures such as owls, small guinea fowls and mice all made from used fridges, white roof metal and oil drums.

 

Barnabas Kamune

My name is Barnabas Kamune and I was born in Chikore, Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1983. Today I am married with three children, two boys and one girl. 

In 2005 I got the opportunity to work as an assistant for a local artisan, Fungai Nyadowa who I was close friends with. Fungai sadly passed away shortly after and left me to continue his work. I became my own in 2020. Today I specialize in making small chickens, roosters, bats all made from old fridges, oil drums and car roofs.

 

Peter Kambuzuma

My name is Peter Kambuzuma and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1988. I am married with two sons that are 6 and 10 years old. 

I started my art career in 2017 working as an assistant to Kudakwashe Chikotora and Peter Tendenguwo making animals out of metal. In 2022 I became my own artisan. Today I specialise in making mainly birdbaths with my four assistants helping me. The birdbaths are made from the metal of old recycled cars and oil drums.

 

Kudakwashe Chikotora

My name is Kudakwashe Chikotora and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1986. I am married with three children, two boys and one girl.

I started my art career in 2017 working as an assistant to Peter Tendenguwo. I later became my own artist in 2013 making bird baths in the shape of leaves, unpainted king fishers, and different kinds of flowers. I currently have eight assistants working for me and helping me make these wonderful sculptures made from used oil drums and car metal.

 

Thomas Muchunju

My name is Thomas Muchunju and I was born in Mutoko, a small town in Mashonaland East province, Zimbabwe in 1994. Today I am married with two boys. 

In 2015 I got the opportunity to work as an assistant for a local artisant. In 2018 I went my own way and started making my own designs and sculpting them. Today I have two assistants working for me and we specialize in making all kinds of flowers and insects but my favourite to make are poppy flowers and grasshoppers. We use recycled car metal and oil drums in all the sculptures we make.

 

Blessing Mugomba

My name is Blessing Mugomba and I was born in Nyanga, Zimbabwe in 1996. I am married with two children, a boy and a girl. 

In 2015 I got the opportunity to work as an assistant for a local artisant. In 2024 I went my own way and started making my own designs and sculpting them. Today I have one assistant working for me and making me make bird baths with a flower shaped roof made out of old car parts and oil drums.

 

Emmanuel Nyadowa

My name is Emmanuel Nyadowa and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in 1994. Today I am married with two sons.

I started my art career in 2013 working as an assistant to my brother Fungai Nyadowa. My brother sadly passed away due to illness leaving behind his wife Rosemary and four children. Rosemary works as a single mother creating metal sculptures to support herself and her children. In 2017 I went my own way and started making my own designs and sculpting them. I currently have two assistants helping me create my art. We specialise in making different kinds of flowers and birds with most of them being seagulls since they are my favorite. These sculptures are made out of used oil drums and car parts.

 

Maxwell Marufo

My name is Maxwell Marufo and I was born in Wedza, a town located in Mashonaland East Province of Zimbabwe in 1977. I am married with three children, one boy and two girls.

I started my art career in 2002 working as an assistant to two local artisans; Maxwell Gochera and Toendepi Masodzi. I worked as an assistant for two years and then started working my own in 2004. Today I work with my two younger brothers assisting me. We specialise in making warthogs and warthog plant pots, different kinds of birds and monkeys. We reuse old kitchen pots and pans to make the warthog pots. We also recycled oil drums when we need to make something colorful and any scrap metal we can get our hands on.

 

Nelson Kara

My name is Nelson Kara and I was born in Masingu, a hill located in Mashonaland in the Central Province of Zimbabwe in 1985. I am married with two children, one boy and one girl.

I started my art career in 2002 working as an assistant to a local artisan. I worked as an assistant for two years and then went on my own in 2008. I currently have two assistants working for me and helping me create my art. We specialise in making woodpeckers, king fishers and french lily flowers all mostly made from old oil drums.

 

Taurai Manhare

My name is Taurai Manhare and I was born in Mutare, the fourth largest city in Zimbabwe and the capital of Manicaland Province, in 1989. I am married with three children, one boy and two girls.

I started my art career in 2005 working as an assistant to a local artisan named Odious. I worked as an assistant for three years and then went on my own in 2008. I currently have three assistants working for me and helping me create my art. We specialise in making cranes, herons, kingfisher, ducks and lions, kangaroos and birds all made from recycled metal.

 

Tindai Mangoma

My name is Tindai Mangoma and I was born in Rusape, a town located in eastern Zimbabwe in, 1983. I am married with two daughters.

I started my art career in 2002 working as an assistant to my brother, Odious. I worked as an assistant for six years and then went on my own in 2008. I currently have three assistants working for me and helping me create my art. I unfortunately lost my leg to diabetes in 2020. I don't let the loss of my leg affect me in any sort of way since life must go on. I manage to work the same way as I did before. I specialize in making herons, giraffes, cranes, storks, woodpeckers all made from old oil drums and used car parts.

 

Tonderai Nyamufinama

My name is Tonderai Nyamufinama and I was born in Nyanga located in Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe on June 21, 1979. I am married with three children, two sons and one daughter.

I started my art career in the year 2000 working as an apprentice for my uncle for five years. He taught me how to weld, cut metal and sculpt animals. I truly love animals and get all my inspiration from them. In 2005 I started working on my own making sheeps, elephants, rhinos, white rabbits, hippos and cats all made from recycled metal. I currently have 5 assistants helping me and assisting me with my work.

 

Gadzirirai Chinyama

My name is Gadzirirai Chinyama and I was born in Gokwe, arural town in the Midlands province in Zimbabwe. I am married with six children, a set of two twins both of them being fraternal twins and two older boys.

I have always been very creative. When I was a small boy I used to make my own toys out of clay. I also used to draw a lot when I was young, art being my favorite subject in school. I started my art career working with stone as an assistant to my Father. I later went on my own and started making metal sculptures since I love the beauty in the work. I currently have three assistants working for me and helping me create these metal sculptures. We specialise in making all the famous animals in africa. We have also made small mooses for Fair Creations.

 

Tonderai Tamuka

My name is Tonderai Tamuka and I was born in Masvingo, a city previously known as Fort Victoria during the colonial times. Today it is located in southeastern Zimbabwe and the capital of Masvingo Province. I was born in 1980. I am married with four children, two sons and two daughters.

I started working as an assistant in 2006 to a local artist for one year and then went on my own from there. I currently don't have any assistants and do everything by myself. I sculpt all kinds of animals using all types of metal.

 

Gift Phiri

My name is Gift Phiri and I was born in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe in 1984. I am married with three children, two girls and one boy. 

I started my art journey in 2005 making metal sculptures for a british company called Birdwoods. I worked for the company for two years until I went on my own. Today I have one assistant assisting me with my work. I specialize in making kingfishers, painted guinea fowls, woodpeckers, herons, peacocks and I mostly use old oil drums.

 

Tellme Mutendadzamera

My name is Tellme Mutendadzamera and I was born in Chimanimani, originally known as Melsetter, is a mountainous district in Manicaland Province of eastern Zimbabwe, in 1976. I am married with three children, one boy and two girls.

I started my art career in the year 2000 working as an assistant for five years. I later started working on my own in 2005. I currently have three assistants helping me and assisting me in my work. We specialise in making warthogs, pangolins, giraffes, bears, turtles, zebras, rabbits and deers all made out of recycled oil drums, fridges and stoves.
